Popsicle Stick Christmas Tree

Materials needed:

  • 3 Popsicle sticks
  • Green marker
  • Beads or berries to decorate
  • Ribbon
  • Glue

Color popsicle sticks with green marker or use pre colored popsicle sticks to make it easier.  Glue them together in a triangle shape like the shape of a Christmas tree.  Glue berries or beads onto the popsicle sticks.  Tie a ribbon on top and hang on your tree.  


Paper Plate Snowman Face

Supplies Needed; Paper Plate, pipe cleaner, pompom, orange and pink construction paper, 2 wiggly eyes, black pen, and glue
Directions; Using construction paper, cut out out 2 pink circles and one orange triangle. Bend pipe cleaner and glue it to the top of your plate. Glue pompoms to either end of the pipe cleaner. Glue on wiggly eyes, nose, and pink circles for cheeks. Once glue is dry, use black pen to draw mouth. 

Swinging Gnome

Supplies Needed; Print out of Swinging Elf (swinging elf), about 2' of yarn (any color will do), crayons or markers, glue, scissors and one popsicle stick.
Directions; Decorate your Santa. Cut out your Santa. Glue the bottom of the Santa to the popsicle stick. Tie about 1' of yarn to each side of the Santa. Place the yarn upwards (towards Santa's hat). Add a drop of glue to Santa's hand silhouette, lay the yarn through the glue and across Santa's hand silhouette. Place the fist cut outs over the glue drops, so they line up with the fist silhouette.

Santa Signal House

Here is a great craft for children who have recently moved. This will help them feel at ease, knowing that Santa would know where to find them.

Supplies Needed; Electric tea light (we purchased them in packs of 4 at the local dollar store), print out of the house template (see below), and supplies to decorate your house.

Directions; Have children decorate their houses. Once decorated, assist them in cutting out their houses, then cut our the window holes and doors as designated. Then assist them in bending the paper on the dashed lines. Put glue on the tabs to form the roof ans back walls. 

When assembly is complete, place lit electric tea light inside house, to light the way for Santa.

Paper Plate Santa Mask

Supplies Needed; Paper plate, yellow construction paper, red construction paper, black construction paper, glue, red paint, Popsicle stick, and cotton balls.
Directions; Paint your paper plate red. Once dry, cut out the center of the plate. Cut out a hat shape and a circle shape with your red construction paper. Next, cut a black strip, about 2" wide. Finally, cut a yellow square with a square hole in the center, for the buckle of the hat. Glue on hat, stripe, buckle, and red circle to end of hat. Lastly, glue cotton balls along bottom half of plate, and on red circle.

Directions; Allow children to  add decorations to the template. they may also want to paint or color the page to makre it more festive.

Button Tree - Ornament

Supplies Needed:
  • green felt
  • ribbon
  • various sized/colored buttons
  • glue gun
  • Elmer’s glue
Directions: Print out tree template (below) or draw your own. Cut it out. Trace it onto felt and cut it out. Sort through your buttons and choose your favorites and then use Elmer’s glue to decorate the tree with buttons or other colorful items. Use an awl or the edge of scissors to make a hole through the top of the tree. Thread a piece of ribbon through the hole and tie a knot to make a loop.

Candy Cane Christmas Tree

Supplies Needed:
  • Green Felt
  • glue {craft glue, or hot glue)
  • beads and/or other assorted “ornaments”
  • Candy Cane

Instructions: Roughly measure out (or use the stencil below) and cut out a piece of green felt, into a tree shape.  You want the candy cane trunk to show 
Cut slits where desired for the candy cane to slide through.  You want them just big enough for the candy cane.
Now it’s time to decorate.  Pull out the candy cane and glue on a star and some ornaments.  You can use Elmer’s Glue-All or hot glue depending on ages {and speed you want to go!}. Allow time for the glue to dry before inserting the candy cane again.

Ninja Turtle Ornaments

These have to be the easiest and cutest ornaments we have ever made! 

Supplies Needed;
Green (round) ornaments), construction paper, glue, and wiggly eyes
Directions; Cut 4 strips of construction paper, they should be 1/2" thick and about 5.5" long. Glue construction paper strips to across the center of the ornaments. Glue wiggly eyes to the front. Done! 

Paper Plate Snowman

Supplies Needed:
2 Paper plates
Black Pipe Cleaners
Orange, black, and brown and colored paper

Ribbon for Scarf
2 Wiggly Eyes
Red Pompom
Glue

Directions:
Glue the two plates together to make your basic snowman. From the scraps of card cut a mouth and a circle for buttons, and glue these to your snowman. Glue on your wiggly eyes, and red pompom nose. Twist your pipe cleaners into arms, and glue them to your snowman. Cut a black hat and glue it to your snowman's head, and hang your snowman on the wall for all to enjoy.
