Turtle Body Parts

Print out a picture of a turtle. Label the turtle. Make labels of the body parts of the turtle. Encourage the children to put the correct body part label near the body part on the turtle.

Draw a square in the middle of a plate. Add lines to the corners of the box to the edge of the plate. Write the names of colors into each area. Use green construction paper to cut out legs, a head, and a tail. Encourage each child to paint or color in each area with the correct color. Provide glue to add the head, legs, and tail.

Turtle Facts Craft

This fun turtle has lots of fact to help you learn. Made out of two paper plates, a brad, construction paper, and string. Paint the two paper plates, after they have dried connect them with the brad. You can then attach paper legs to the center brad with some string. Next write down some cool facts about turtles on the legs and head. Need some facts? Try some of these facts from Animal Planet.

Let's Tell a Turtle Tale!

Let’s tell a Turtle Tale.
Toly the turtle has landed on the beach.
Who will be there? What will happen?

Materials needed:

green construction paper
white paper
crayons
poster paper, marker
glue
stapler
scissors

Movement: Toly the Turtle by Debbie Hasbrook

Telling a Turtle Tale:
Using a large piece of paper, ask the children to tell you what might happen when Toly comes to shore. Write down all of their ideas, even the silly ones

Create the book: Take two pieces of green construction paper and three pieces of white paper. Staple all papers together and cut out a turtle shape.

Next: Give each child a sheet of paper, crayons and ask them to draw a picture of Toly coming to the beach and what might have happened.

Write out the story as children dictate it to you and attach to the back of the picture.
