Children have endless potential. To help them understand their potential read them this poem and allow them to act out being a tiny acorn and a giant tree. Supplies Needed; Acorn print out (see below) and crayons or markers Directions; Ask children to draw what they want their future to look like. Suggestions might be family, job, home, or places they would like to travel to. Supplies; 5 Popsicle sticks, acorn print out, glue, crayons or markers
Directions; Have the children cut out 5 acorns from the pattern below. Have the children color and number the acorns 1 through 5. Help the children attach the acorns to the end of each Popsicle stick. Instructions; Have the children hold all five sticks in the finished acorn puppet sticks in their hands. As you read the poem, instruct the children to drop the corresponding stick, so by the end of the poem they will have no acorn puppets in their hands.
