This is a good sensory play project. Use glue to outline the letter "B." Have the children use there fingers to trace and flatten the letter, then have them pour sand over the glue. Shake the sand off to reveal your letter.
Children love to play in the sand!
Surprise the children with this sensory activity that looks and feels like sand but uses two of everyday ingredients.
Materials: 24oz container of salt, ¼ cup pepper, small bowl, spoon, pizza pan, small toys.
Instructions: Place the ingredients on the table. Tell the children that today they are going to make sand. Let the children pour the salt and pepper into the bowl. Allow each child to stir the ingredients until well mixed. Pour salt mixture on to a pizza pan and add toys.
Activity: Place pan on a small table, put up pictures of the beach, maybe play ocean sounds. (Watch for licking fingers.) Save the salt to make play-do when finished.
