Baby or toddler clothes (button up shirt and overalls work best)
Paper lunch sack
Instructions: Draw a scarecrow face on the paper lunch sack. Then, stuff the sack with newspaper and tie off a little over half way down. Stuff the clothes with newspaper until the body is plump and stiff. Attach the sack head by pulling the bottom of the bag through one of the top button holes and fringing the bottom of the bag to make it look like straw. Add a hat. Scarecrow is now complete!!
Name that Scarecrow: Have children create a list of names for the scarecrow. Narrow the list down and have them vote on a name for the scarecrow.
Memory game: I am going on a trip to the cornfield...:
The game is played in alphabetical order.
First person will start the game by saying “I am going on trip to the cornfield and I am going to pack…” (something that stars with A) the next person repeats “I am going on trip to the cornfield and I am going to pack..."what the first person said then adds on something that begins with B.
This continues on taking turns with players until you reach the letter Z.
