Read the book:
A Sick Day for Amos McGee by Philip C. Stead and illustrated by Erin Stead. This story shows how much some of the zoo animals love and care for their zookeeper when he becomes sick.

Get Well/Feel Better Cards

Teach children kindness and compassion for others by making Get Well and Feel Better cards for someone that is sick.

Supplies:
·         Construction paper
·         Markers, crayons, colored pencils
·         Glue
·         Stickers
·         Googley eyes
·         Optional: band-aids and facial tissue

Directions:
For beginner writers help them to write “Get Well” or “Feel Better” on their card or help them use letter stickers. Let children create thoughtful, creative cards with the provided supplies. Help children to write a special uplifting message inside of card.

This rhyming story will teach children where germs live and how to prevent the spread of germs.

Bah-Hum-Bugs Craft

·         Facial tissue
·         Googley eyes
·         Markers, crayons, colored pencils
·         Yarn or ribbon

Directions:
Ask children what germs look like and let them create a picture of a germ bug.
