Here is an artistic way to teach children about Congenital Heart Defects. Using construction paper, cut out a heart shape. Then cut the heart into three pieces. Give the children the pieces and ask them to reconstruct the heart. Once they have pieced it back together, give them a couple of band-aids to reattach the pieces.

February is Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Month

Here is a fun way to acknowledge Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Month.

We made two white hand prints and covered the wet paint with glitter. Once dry, we wrote in "Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Month" and "February 2014". We decided to finish it off by outlining the heart.
