Supplies Needed; Paper plate, black paint, black construction paper, popsicle sticks, scissors and glue.
Directions; Cut the center from the paper plate. Paint the bottom half of the plate black, and set aside to dry. Using the black construction paper, cut a hat shape. Glue the hat shape to the white half of you plate, and glue the popsicle stick to the middle of the black half.
Consider using in conjunction with our story,
Rinse off soap and water pennies. Rinse off second set of vinegar and salt pennies. Compare the differences. If children don’t see any visible differences stick an unclean penny half way into the vinegar and salt mix. Hold it for 15-20 seconds. Observe how half of the penny is cleaner than the other half.
· Place a coin under a piece of white printer paper. Gently rub a crayon over the paper where the coin is placed.
