STEP #3: Mix the ingredients together with warm water while the stove is on, THEN KEEP MIXING until the ingredients turn into “mashed potatoes” and is no longer a sticky-looking substance.
Supplies:
1 box (16 oz) Cornstarch ¼ cup Basil seed also known as Tukmaria (not planting seeds) 2 ½ cups water Food coloring Directions: Wash hands. Mix cornstarch and basil seeds together in a medium size bowl. Add a few drops of food coloring to water. Slowly add water to cornstarch mix and knead with hands. Mixture will be watery and will slowly thicken as the basil seeds absorb the water. *It took us about 5 minutes to get a playable slime consistency and with further play the mixture got thicker and thicker. We saved the slime mixture in a Ziploc bag and played with it the next day. The mixture was almost a solid squishy substance but the children stilled enjoyed playing with it.
Children are toning their manipulative skills, focusing on creativity, advancing fine motor muscles, and using our imagination.
