I Lost My Tooth in Africa - Paper plate chicken

This story is written by an 8 year old girl and illustrated by her father. A young girl takes a trip to West Africa to visit family and hopes she loses her tooth while on her visit so that the African Tooth Fairy will leave her a chicken.

Supplies:

• Paper plate
• Construction paper
• Glue
• Scissors
• Hole puncher
• Googly eye or button
• Chenille stems
• Brad paper faster
• Optional: feathers, markers, crayons

Directions: Cut out feet, beak, wing feathers, tail feathers, and the chicken’s comb. Punch holes near bottom of paper plate and secure a chenille stem in each hole and attach a foot to each chenille stem. Attach tail feathers with a brad paper faster. Glue on beak, comb, wing feathers and eye.

Learn the chicken dance!

Pinch fingers and thumb open and shut above shoulders 4 times.

  Bend knees and move towards the ground while shaking waist 4 times. Clap hands 4 times. Repeat until music tempo changes.

Flap arms like a chicken 4 times.

During tempo change extend arms out fully and glide around like a bird in flight. When tempo changes again repeat previous steps.
