Provide children with a paper cup, toilet paper roll, glue, and a piece of tin foil. Encourage and assist children to wrap the tin foil around the paper cup forming it on the bottom into a long ball. Allow the children to glue a toilet paper roll to the top of the cup and help them write Liberty onto it.

To make this very yummy 4th of July Flag Treat spread a piece of bread or toast with cream cheese and then jam. Top with banana pieces and blueberries to complete the treat.
Fourth of July crown
What you need: Construction paper, pipe cleaners, and tape. Allow the children to put on the stars and attach them to the crown. Great Fourth of July Shaving Cream Sensory Project!
What you need: shaving cream and paint. Give each child their own tub/bowl of shaving cream. Have them make the surface smooth with their fingers. Allow them to finger paint or use a paint brush to create the fireworks. Caution: Always supervise children closely when using shaving cream! Have the children count the dots, then match the dots on the clothes pins to the numbers on the cup. This is a good way to practice early math skills.
Have the children dip their thumbs in finger paint and use their thumb prints to create a flag. Caution: this activity should be done with supervision; to ensure the paint is not ingested. |
